We make custom acoustic star ceiling panels and install them across the country. This page tells you who we are and how we work, without the padding.
Who We Are
American Starlight Ceilings is a small operation. The company is based in Las Vegas — the 702 number on this site reaches us directly, not a call centre. Our installation crew and our warehouse are in Dallas, which is where panels ship from and where our crews travel out of.
We do one thing: custom acoustic ceiling panels with fibre optics and an LED light engine built in, made to order and either shipped to you or fitted by our crew. We are not a general lighting contractor and we do not do anything else.
What that means practically: outside Dallas, installation is a scheduled trip rather than a same-day call-out. The price is the same $77 per sq ft either way, with no travel charge — but we agree the date in advance. In DFW we can usually move faster and come and look at your ceiling in person.
Who makes the panels
The panels are custom-manufactured by our production partner to each project's layout, grid module and edge type. They arrive finished, with the fibre optics and light engine already inside — there is no assembly on site and no fibre threading.
A 5,000 sq ft Casino Gaming Floor
We manufactured and supplied roughly 1,250 panels covering a 5,000 square foot gaming floor at a tribal casino in northern Minnesota. It runs continuously over slot banks and table games in a live commercial environment.
We supplied the panels for that project; we did not carry out the installation. We'd rather say so than let you assume otherwise.

What We Actually Make
Specifics, rather than adjectives:
- Acoustic ceiling tiles first — the fibre optics are integrated into a panel that absorbs sound, with options above NRC 1.0
- Star density 7–11 per sq ft as standard, which is roughly 28–44 stars on a 2×2 panel. Higher densities on request.
- Built to your grid — 2×2 or 2×4 module, 15/16″ or 9/16″ tee, square lay-in or tegular edge
- PMMA fibre optics that hold clarity for 20+ years and don't burn out like conventional lamps
- LED light engine inside the panel, so nothing sits above your ceiling and no separate wiring run is needed
- Low-voltage Cat5 power, daisy-chained panel to panel from a single ceiling outlet
- No drilling, no attic access, no ceiling repair — panels drop into a grid or surface mount
Warranty: 2 years on materials, covering the panels, fibres and light engines. Lifetime workmanship warranty on any installation our own crews carry out — that one doesn't apply to self-installed panels, for obvious reasons. Technical support is ongoing either way.
Three Things We Try to Get Right
Straight pricing
$55 per sq ft for panels, $77 installed, published on every page. No travel charge, no regional pricing, no quote that arrives higher than the site implied. Freight and custom effects are quoted separately and we say so up front.
Both options, every time
We quote panels-only and fully installed on every enquiry so you can see the $22 per sq ft difference and decide. Plenty of customers fit them themselves and we're happy with that — the panels are identical either way.
Design before manufacture
Effects are built in at manufacture, not added afterwards, so the layout work happens first. We plan the starfield around your screen wall, speakers, recessed lights and vents rather than around a stock grid.
