5,000 sq ft Casino Gaming Floor

We manufactured and supplied roughly 1,250 panels covering a 5,000 square foot gaming floor at a tribal casino in northern Minnesota — the largest single starfield we have built. It runs continuously over slot banks and table games in a live commercial environment.

To be precise about our role: we supplied the panels, we did not carry out this installation. The photographs below are of the finished ceiling.

Panels matched to the venue's existing grid module

Two things about that project are worth knowing if you are specifying a commercial ceiling. First, the panels were manufactured to the venue's existing grid module and edge type, so they dropped in alongside the standard tiles — no ceiling was rebuilt. Second, because the format is modular, individual panels lift out for maintenance access, which is not true of a fibre bundle threaded through a fixed ceiling.

Why Panels Suit Commercial Work

Our panels are custom-manufactured acoustic ceiling tiles with the fibre optics and LED light engine already built in. For a working venue, that changes the job considerably.

  • No ceiling rebuild — panels drop into your existing suspended grid, matched to your module and tee
  • Services stay accessible — individual panels lift out like any other tile
  • Acoustic performance built in — options above NRC 1.0, which matters in restaurants and lounges
  • No drilling, no attic work, no ceiling repair — less disruption to trading
  • Low-voltage Cat5 power — daisy-chained panel to panel from a single outlet
  • Fire-rated options available for commercial specification
  • Phased installation — large areas split so parts of the venue stay open
  • 2-year materials warranty, plus lifetime workmanship on installations our own crews carry out

On building codes: requirements vary by jurisdiction and occupancy type. Tell us what your project has to meet at design stage and we'll confirm what we can supply against it before anything goes into manufacture — rather than discovering a mismatch after the panels are built.

Where Commercial Star Ceilings Work

🎰 Casinos & Gaming

Gaming floors, poker rooms and high-limit areas. Our largest supplied ceiling is a 5,000 sq ft gaming floor running continuously.

🍽️ Restaurants & Bars

Dining rooms, private rooms and lounge ceilings. The acoustic core is often the bigger draw — hard-surfaced dining rooms get loud.

🏨 Hotels & Resorts

Suites, lobbies, ballrooms and spa treatment rooms. Panels match existing grid so a refurbishment doesn't mean a ceiling rebuild.

🧖 Spas & Wellness

Treatment rooms and relaxation lounges, usually at low star density with warm tones rather than a dense field.

🏥 Healthcare

Waiting areas, imaging rooms and patient rooms. Fibres carry light only, so there's no current at ceiling level.

🏢 Offices & Reception

Reception ceilings, boardrooms and client-facing spaces where acoustic performance and appearance both matter.

Commercial Pricing

The rate is the same as residential — $55 per square foot for panels, $77 per square foot fully installed, with no separate travel charge. Commercial projects differ in scale and scheduling, not in price per foot.

Not included: freight (panels ship crated, quoted at order), the suspended grid itself and your field tile, a ceiling outlet for the light engine, grid modification or supplemental hanger wire, and applicable sales tax. Custom effects such as shooting stars, constellation mapping and colour changing are built in at manufacture and quoted on top.

Panels are custom-manufactured to your layout, so lead time scales with panel count — a floor of any size is quoted and scheduled well in advance. See the full breakdown in our cost guide.

Commercial Starlight Ceiling FAQ

Panels are $55 per sq ft delivered and $77 per sq ft fully installed, the same rate as residential. A 600 sq ft commercial area is around $33,000 for panels or $46,200 installed. A 5,000 sq ft gaming floor is roughly $275,000 in panels.
Roughly 1,250 panels covering a 5,000 sq ft gaming floor at a tribal casino in northern Minnesota. We supplied the panels for that project rather than installing them. It runs continuously in a live commercial gaming environment.
Fire-rated panel options are available for commercial specification. Because requirements vary by jurisdiction and occupancy type, tell us what your project has to meet at design stage and we'll confirm what we can supply against it before anything is manufactured.
Individual panels lift out of a suspended grid the same way a standard ceiling tile does, so services above the ceiling stay accessible. That's one of the main reasons the modular format suits commercial work better than a fibre bundle threaded through a fixed ceiling.
Panels drop into an existing grid, so there's no drilling, no attic access and no ceiling repair. Large areas are normally phased so parts of the venue stay open, and work is scheduled around your trading hours. Panels are custom manufactured to your layout, so allow build time once the design is approved.
The panels are acoustic ceiling tiles with the fibre optics integrated, so they absorb sound as well as light up. Options reach NRC ratings above 1.0, which matters in restaurants, lounges and any room where ceiling reflections hurt speech clarity.
